Corso post-laurea in Law and Business in Europe - Autumn School 2009

The programme was launched as a post-graduate training course in 2005 by the University Institute of European Studies and the Centre for Studies on Federalism and financially supported by the Compagnia di San Paolo. The course has been organised as well under the auspices of the University of Turin, the University of Fribourg (Switzerland), the Carlo Cattaneo University, the Universidad de Lima, the European Training Foundation and the European Policy Centre.
From 2005 to 2008 the course was structured as an intensive programme (roughly 50 days of training activities), focused on European regulatory framework to be considered when doing business in Europe.

The recent economic developments have suggested that the "Law & Business in Europe" programme could better meet the request of more flexibility, offering a programme which could combine specialised and intensive training with the present need of dealing with crisis management.
Hence the launching of the course "Corporate Strategies and Global Economic Crisis. EU Business Opportunities", conceived as a two-week Autumn School.

The course will be held at the "Collegio Carlo Alberto" in Moncalieri (Torino), from 9 to 20 November 2009 .

In the light of the highly specialised content of this course, the course envisages active cooperation with the Turin Chamber of Commerce and the International University College of Turin.
Academic and professional experts together with successful European enterprises will give an essential contribution to the content.
The Autumn School is designed as an intensive course, combining academic teaching with a problem solving approach.
The course comprises 10 full training days, including a workshop and a final conference.
The programme has been set up to offer participants a specialised competence in the field of EU economic law, business and corporate strategies. The present international environment brings with it new challenges and calls for an effective and competitive response from European institutions and enterprises. Europe can be a successful "pole of excellence" for its potential in terms of human resources, creativity, innovation, corporate strategy and social standards.
The Autumn School iscomposed by 9 intensive modules.

• Policy framework: Global Economic Crisis and EU strategies;
• Legal framework: The Single Market for European firms;
• Economic framework: Management under Market Uncertainty and European Union;
• Specific insights: Advanced Financing Techniques and Compliance Risk Assessment;
• Specific insights: Merger & Acquisitions, Business Networks, and Clusters;
• Specific insights: Business Succession and European Law;
• Specific insights: European Corporate and Commercial Law;
• Specific insights: State Aides and EU Policies;
• Specific insights: EU Funding Opportunities for Innovation and Internationalisation.

The Autumn School further comprises two complementary modules, characterized by the presentation of pratical cases by corporate counsels and business leaders, as well as a series of related tutorials.

• Multinational Corporate Strategies and Business Crisis;
• SME Strategies, Multinational Clusters and Business Crisis.

The training approach includes frontal lectures, practical cases presented by experts and workshop, whose results will be presented to the public during a final conference.

The post-graduate Autumn School is mainly designed for Italian and foreign graduates in Law, Business, Economics, Political Science or with equivalent qualifications. Undergraduates in their last year of attendance (provided that they are on schedule with their exams) may be considered for admission.
Those who hold professional accredited qualifications and have relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
Applicants must be fluent in English (working language of the Course).
An introductory knowledge of EU institutions is appreciated.

Full time attendance is required for the entire duration of the course.

Tuition fees for the programme are set at EUR 350,00.

Compagnia di San Paolo awards several scholarships in order to cover part of board and lodging expenses.
Such scholarhips are awarded upon a written request in the application and on the basis of candidates' supporting documentation.
